Girls Just Wanna Have Fu-hun!

I took relaxation to a whole new level yesterday and decided NOT to post last night. SAY WHAAAA? This is UNHEARD of for me! I just needed a night to myself. One which did not involve opening my shiny, bright, little magical box of electronic laptop wonder. IT FELT GLORIOUS!

My Saturday was glorious and perfect in every way. Reeeeeeeeeeeeeeewind.

BREAKFAST (meal #1) at 9:30am.

I slept in till 9:00. LOVED it! I celebrated with a lovely cup of coconut macaroon coffee. See me waving? HA!

I also had two open faced spinach, egg white, ham and cheese sandwiches on wheat bread.

After breakfast I changed and met Ann at the gym to get a good workout in. I was craving it bad. I hate missing a day during the week and as you all know I missed Thursdays' workout due to work enslavement. I was ready for a good SWEAT session.

After our workout we ran to feed Mama and Papa Babushkas cats and tidied up their house a bit. We're talking cleaning like maniacs. Once we started we just couldn't stop. Papa, if you're reading this, SHHHHHH, don't tell Mama. I want it to be a surprise. HA! :)

I know I said yesterday was relaxing and it seems like all I've done up to this point is workout and clean. Don't worry, it's about to get WAY better. AND I enjoyed my workout and cleaning. SO THERE!!!

SNACK (meal #2) at 2:00pm.

When I got home I had a quick snack of plain Dannon Greek yogurt, Nature's Path Crunchy Maple Sunrise cereal and a drizzle of Kodiak Cakes raspberry syrup. DELICIOUS!

I also took a nice long bubble bath. My leg felt a bit stiff from my little run and the hot bath felt amazing. Afterwards I got ready and left to spend the rest of my afternoon over at Annie-Boos' new apartment. We had planned a serious GIRLIE evening together. It was just what I needed.

The rest of this post is going to be a photo recap of our evening. With a few exclamatory highlights. Enjoy.

Havarti cheese, rosemary + flax crackers + honey wheat pretzels + grapes + wine (AKA meal #3)

SHY little Pepper.

SWEET and delicious red wine. We're talking candy sweet. YUM!

Loved the bottle, did NOT love the wine. Not a fan of Oaky wines. Overall, not bad, but not great...

Notice the BAD KITTY Pajama pants? HA! Ann was hardcore lounging. Naturally, the awesome pants were a present from yours truly! LOVE IT!

The next few SHOCKING photos can not be explained. It's just something we do when we get together.... and wine is involved.... It seems to happen EVERY time! HAHAHAHA!

Our evening ACCIDENTALLY ended at the Mexican restaurant around the corner from Ann's apartment. We had fresh, warm tortilla chips with awesome hot salsa and raspberry lemonade.

And sadly, when our food came out, I was SO EXCITED that I dove right in without even thinking of taking my camera out. :-o

I had what I always have when I find myself being NAUGHTY at a Mexican restaurant. The Chicken Quesadilla Fajita. Ann got 2 chicken and 2 beef Flautas. We split our meals and shared. I ate maybe 60% of everything and felt like I was going to EXPLODE! It hurt so good! The food was delicious!!!

After dinner I dropped Ann back off at her apartment and drove home. I IMMEDIATELY changed into my pajamas and crashed on the couch. Nick and I attempted to watch a movie but I passed out after about 20 minutes. He woke me up and I went straight to bed. It was such a great day!

I'll be back later tonight with a post about today. Enjoy your weekend my lovelies!

ONLY 5 MORE WORK DAYS LEFT BEFORE VACATION! OMG!

HUGS!

Babies and Brussel Sprouts

I went a little crah-zee last night with the "fun having" and stayed out way past my bedtime. (BAD ILDIE!!) I didn't even get home until after 1:00am. There was much fun to be had though. Too much in fact! I accidentally drank wine..... Way more than I should have...... IT ALL HAPPENED SO FAST! It innocently started with chatting and catching up while holding and ooing and cooing over baby Benjamin. HE IS INSANELY ADORABLE PEOPLE! I held him for about 30 minutes and didn't want to give him back. Not in a creepy way. I'm just saying! (Pictures of baby Ben will not be posted, sorry... I promised mommy... He's just not ready to make his photographic debut yet...) Then the wine and the boardgames made an appearance. This is where it all went downhill. So much for being 100% perfect and good with no slacking off this week. I'm off to a great start right? HA!

Needless to say, waking up today was a bit rough. Thus making the usual Monday hustle that much more "enjoyable".

BREAKFAST (meal #1) at 9:30am.

This sat in my stomach like a gooey brick. No idea why. I eat this all the time and never have any problems. I was uncomfortably FULL today though. Maybe I should cut my portion size back a bit? I shall test this tomorrow and see what happens.
  • 1/2 cup old fashioned oats
  • 1/4 wheat bran
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • dash pumpkin pie spice
  • pinch salt
  • Splenda
  • (Microwaved and topped with 1 tbs ground flax + 1 tbs sugar free strawberry preserves + 1 tbs Better N' Peanut Butter.)

The day flew by at work today. Probably because I was super busy and super tired. Makes for the perfect time warp/blackout combo!

LUNCH (meal #2) at 12:30pm.

I had a tasty wheat FlatOut + Spinach + Bean Sprouts + Smoke Turkey + Sriracha wrap. It was so good and spicy. I LOVE Sriracha. I swear it makes everything better!

I also had a banana. It's been so long since I've just eaten a banana. Not IN anything or ON anything. Just eaten as is. It really is the perfect fruit!

On our break today, Ann and I invaded CVS and I spent a small fortune on new makeup. WHY must it be so expensive? WHY must I be a sucker and buy it? WHY can't I just be blessed with naturally flawless skin? WHY???? On a serious note, I LOVE makeup!! I'm a girly girl I guess! But you know, with a rugged and tough side! ROAR!

SNACK (meal #3) at 4:15pm.

The usual with some muffin lovin. A plain Dannon Greek yogurt with strawberries and 2 of the mini chocolate protein muffins I made on Saturday. Topped off with cinnamon. YUM!

I inhaled this, changed for the gym and got the hot heck out of work at 5:00 on the dot.

WORKOUT!

The gym was INSANELY busy today. The rain and grey skies brought all the crazies out. They were everywhere! Grunting, flexing and hogging up weights and machines all over the place. It was rough but somehow Ann and I worked around them. It definitely slowed us down a bit. BAH!

At this point Ann and I were at our LIMIT with the overcrowded factor in the free weight room so we called it quits and went upstairs to do cardio.

Ladies, does anyone else ever feel like having breasts makes you less accepted, or in a word "invisible" in the free weight room (also known as MAN land)? Sometimes I could just scream, but I refrain. Instead I hold my ground, get my workout done and feel all the better for it. I will not move for you! I will not shy away! I will not rush my sets because you have no manners! I deserve to be here just as much as you! SO TAKE THAT GRUNTING BEASTS! Take that and love it! ;)

Treadmill - 20 minutes
1.4 miles, 1 minute intervals at levels 3.2 (walking) and 5.0 (running).

Elliptical Cross Trainer - 10 minutes
1 mile, 1 minute intervals at levels 6, 8 and 10.

Total time at the gym = 1:15
Max HR = 181
Average HR = 150
Total Calories burned = 687

We left the gym feeling energized, empowered, strong and unfortunately, soaking wet and stinky. We quickly ran to Mama and Papa Babushka's house to fee the kitties and then I hustled home.

SNACK (meal #4) at 8:00pm.

I made a tasty smoothie.
  • 1 cup unsweetened vanilla Almond Breeze
  • 1 scoop vanilla whey protein powder
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 10 frozen cherries
  • 1 cup ice

I was freezing but had a craving for this bad boy anyways. It took me for EVER to finish it all. Sooooo coooooold!

DINNER (meal #5) at 10:00pm.

I hate having dinner this late but time just sort of got away from me today. I was craving brussel sprouts like MAD! I tossed some on a cookie sheet with red potatoes and sweet potatoes for a nice and easy meal. I seasoned it all with sea salt + black pepper + garlic powder and baked it at 425 for 30 minutes. Flipping everything just once about halfway through. I also tossed in a smoke bratwurst for Nick to have with dinner. I just had my serving with a leftover chicken breast from last nights dinner.

Simple and delicious! Of course I also had some low carb ketchup on the side. I LOVE KETCHUP!

Alright my lovelies. I'm a tired mess. I must get some sleep tonight! Last night is definitely catching up to me!

I adore you all!
XOXO

Size "magical"

So I attempted to shop for clothes today and it was a COMPLETE failure. I tried on not one, not two, not even three, but 16 (YES, six-teeeeeeen) pairs of jeans today. How many did I buy you ask? NONE! Apparently I'm an original, one of kind, they don't make pants in this particular shape, magical size. I'm all for being unique but come on. Talk about frustrating. I was in the dressing room sweating like a furious psychopath. All the jeans were either too big, too small, too snug (in a VERY non flattering way) and of course my favorite, too long. Even the petite jeans were too long. Am I shrinking? :(

I did pick up a cute little shirt and necklace to make up for all the dressing room trauma. It helped, but only a little. :)

Enough complaining. Lets discuss food now. Glorious and amazing food. (my favorite!)

BREAKFAST (meal #1) at 10:00am.

I had a handful of grapes with strawberries, cottage cheese with Splenda and cinnamon and a Thomas's English muffin with sugar free strawberry jam on one side and spray butter and cinnamon on the other. And a lovely cup of coffee of course!

An odd mix of delicious.

After I ate I met Ann at Mama and Papa Babushka's house to feed the beasts and then we "attempted" shopping. We all know how that went, sadly. After 2 hours I gave up and came home.

LUNCH (meal #2) at 2:00pm.

I had a wrap in a wheat FlatOut which I stuffed with leftover eggplant, spinach, cucumber and a drizzle of Sriracha.

On the side I had a juicy Macintosh apple with pumpkin butter. Who knew this would be such a good combo! I loved it!

After lunch Nick and I decided to watch an awesomely bad (which equals good, naturally) movie about Nazi Zombies called Dead Snow. It was Norwegian. And AWESOME! :)

SNACK (meal #3) at 5:00pm.

I snacked on some butter pretzels, Wheat Thins and 2 dark cocoa protein muffins during the movie. I also had a cup of coffee. :-O

Later in the afternoon we got a call from Nick's friends who just had a baby and we decided to FINALLY visit to see the little one. This meant an earlier dinner than expected.

DINNER (meal #4) at 7:45pm.

I quickly sauteed up some skinless boneless chicken breasts in Pam (seasoned with pink salt, black pepper and garlic powder) and made Nick and I some tasty salads. They contained spinach + kumato + baby orange pepper + bean sprouts and of course, the chicken. I just drizzle a bit of spray butter on mine. YUM!

Now I have to run so I can hold an adorable baby for a few hours (fantasize) and play some board games. Wine was mentioned. Uh oh. Perhaps wine will be Snack, meal #5? AWE SNAP!!!! :)

XOXO
