Cleaning Machine

As Sunday night nears its unavoidable end, I find myself sitting in front of this addictive and glowing box of magical wonder. As if in a trance I feel compelled to open it and begin typing. With hands possessed I write you these very words. Unable to stop. Must....keep....typing. I love blog land! You're all so fantastic that I just can't stay away. YEAH! ;)

It was another dull, ugly, grey and wet rainy day outside today. BETTER that than snow though. I'll take this ugly cool rain any day! To warm up I made a delicious repeat of the breakfast I had yesterday. Irish Paradise oats. YUM!
  • 1/2 cup Irish oats
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup vanilla Almond Breeze
  • Splenda to taste
  • dash salt
  • dash cinnamon
  • dash pumpkin pie spice
  • 2 tbs sweetened coconut
  • 1 banana, sliced
  • 1 tbs Trader Joe's pumpkin butter

All of these things combined equal one happy lady. I can't believe Nick didn't want any. He was ALL about the oil smothered hashbrowns and drippy bacon this morning instead. NO THANKS!

After breakfast I got this WILD idea to start moving some of my furniture around, clean, organize and put my Christmas Village out. All hope to stop me was lost by Nick as soon as he looked into my eyes. According to him I had my easily recognizable "just let the girl clean or DIE" twinkle going on.

Boy, the time just flew by while I played with my cleaning products and perfected my organizational skills. The Christmas Village looked so nice too. :)

Then it was time to quickly get dressed, pack up lunch and head to visit the folks. Since I lost track of time and I had to rush out the door, cooking something for lunch was out. Instead I opted for a sandwich on an Ezekiel 4:9 sprouted whole grain bun with arugula, turkey and honey mustard. On the side I had a salad with a mix of romaine, arugula, lima beans, black beans, cherry tomatoes, feta and spray butter. DELICIOUS!

After lunch I hung out with the fam for a bit and had a blast as usual. I lost at Yahtzee. I hate that STUPID GAME! Stupid.... STUPID game! HA!

When I got home Nick was gone. He took on the task of fixing the threshold and the weather stripping on the side door that we use to get into the house. You can feel a steady, cool, freezing and sexy stream of air blowing through it at all times. It's SUPER!! Especially for my gas bill!!! He ripped the bottom of the door frame apart so he could rebuild it and close the gap more before installing the new threshold. Whoever originally installed the door did a CRAPPY JOB! Thanks previous home owners. You're SWELL! He was running around buying parts and visiting his dad for some spare wood and to use his saw. HEY, THIS GIVES ME TIME TO FINISH UP MY CLEANING SESSION FROM THIS MORNING! SCORE!

After the cleaning party was done I took a nice bath to relax. Ahhh, I love my big tub. By the time I was done with that I was starving so I decided to whip together a quick and easy dinner. I basically took the rice, bean, cabbage and mushroom mix from last nights dish and tossed it on top of a bed of romaine, arugula and cherry tomatoes. Weird I know... But also delicious!

I even managed to squeeze in a recorded episode of So You Think You Can Dance before Nick got home. YEAH! I'm SO behind this season! I have at least 3-4 more episodes to watch. SIGH!

For a bit of a snack later (oddly enough I got hungry again...) I made a tasty little yogurt mess. Into my bowl of goodness went a 1/2 cup plain Oikos, my VERY LAST (so sad) MultiBran VitaTop, golden raisins and some POM arils. I love this combo so much. Tasty-tasty...

Time to go snuggle up on the couch. It's chilly in here! Goodnight!
