Surveys give me SASS!

Hi everyone, hope you're all doing well. Today has been another busy day in the life of this sassy little blogger. Work kept me busy and the day just flew by. Of course I had enough time to stop and enjoy some delicious eats. So let's cover that now shall we?

Breakfast was a scary looking, hot, messy glob of wholesome goodness. I had old fashioned oats mixed with unsweetened coco, pumpkin pie spice, a dash of splenda and a banana. Uhm, so good. I don't care how scary it looks! I enjoyed it with a cup of coffee.

Lunch today was also tasty. I had leftover green beans from last night and a Morning Star Farms black bean burger on an English muffin. Oh these burgers!!! They're so good I could cry. So much better then a plain Boca burger, which I happen to love by the way so clearly they're amazing! Each bite is bursting with texture and flavor. I refuse to even add mustard or ketchup. HECK NO. It would ruin the flavor. NOTHING NEEDED! Except cheese, which I didn't have today but that's okay.

I was actually able to leave work today for a break. Oh it was so nice to get out. Sometimes I sit at my desk for so long that my ass goes numb. We went the Target to pick up a few things. Nothing exciting but it was nice to get out none the less.

For my afternoon snack I had (I don't care if you're bored with this) Oikos Greek yogurt again. I added red and concord grapes and a small cut up apple to make it even more "special". It was rich, creamy and delicious. YEAH!

And then get this everyone, I left work ON TIME today. It felt so GLORIOUS! We were at the gym by 5:30. SUPER! Some may even say duper!! It was cardio and shoulders today. Oh cardio.... Will I ever love thee? Probably not but I'll keep doing it anyways. We worked out for about 1:15 and then headed home.

For dinner tonight I felt like experimenting. Partially because I had no idea what to have and mostly because I had a weird mix of stuff in the fridge available to me. So here it is. In a large stock pot I sauteed a bag of coleslaw mix, a small onion, two green onions, some mushrooms, chickpeas, spay butter a little soy sauce. Weird? Not sure yet but it smells good! I topped it with leftover chicken tenders from the other night a little fresh green onions. HEY, IT WAS GOOD! I mean really good! And healthy. WINNER!!!

For a little snack later I made a cup of Raspberry Zinger tea and some chocolate animal crackers. I love these things. Not as crunchy as the regular ones but so chocolaty. MMM.

Ok, now it's time to watch my recorded episodes of So You Think You Can Dance. I LOVE THIS SHOW! So goodnight everyone. Time to boogey! ;)

Oh, and look at Sir Oliver. He's being all good curled up with me tonight. I don't trust him though. I see crazy in them there eyes!!!

Two for the price of one.

Hi everyone, I'M BACK! HAVE NO FEAR! ILDIE THE GREAT IS HERE! I was having computer issues YET AGAIN yesterday. SIGH! Coming home after work and the gym and not being able to Blog put me in a mood! I was actually yelling at my computer like a maniac. Like that's going to accomplish anything. It crashed on me again for no reason and Nick had to completely re-install Windows. Good thing he is a programer and works with computers because if he didn't, I would've been without a computer for a while. And by fix it I mean he "fixed it". For how long this time? Who knows!

Okay, I have a lot to cover so let's get started.

MONDAY
Work was busy yesterday. My tired little fingers are still sore from all the emails I was replying to. At least my breakfast was tasty. I had Oikos Greek yogurt with a banana and a little Post banana nut crunch cereal sprinkled over the top. It was SO good! I had it with a huge cup of hot and cozy coffee.

For lunch I enjoyed a wrap with chicken lunch meat, green peppers, sprouts, jalapeno hummus and spicy mustard. I had more green peppers and hummus on the side as well. I couldn't fit all of it into the wrap. It was a nice combo of flavors.

Ann talked me into taking a break later. Deep down I knew that leaving would end up being a bad idea since I was so busy but I did it anyways. We went to Barnes and Nobles down the street to hang out and enjoyed some tea. I was gone for 40 minutes and came back to 48 emails. I knew I would regret leaving. HA!

For my afternoon snack I enjoyed a warm bowl of old fashioned oats, pumpkin pie spice, splenda and dried cranberries. It warmed me right up. It was a cold day here in O-HI-O-HOW-I-HATE-THEE land.

After work it was off to the gym for cardio day. It was a good workout. Probably because I was so angry and stressed. I let it ALL out and felt much better afterwards. :)

For dinner I was feeling a bit lazy and Nick told me no to to fuss. YAY. So I decided to make pancakes. Hot, fluffy, sweet, decadent pancakes! I used the usual recipe and added banana, cinnamon and dried cherries to jazz them up a bit. Delicious decision. They were so good that I had to resist licking my plate clean. I had it with a nice, hot cup of tea. It was cold in the house but I refuse to turn the heat on just yet. The tea helped.

And basically that was my super exciting Monday.....

TUESDAY
I came in to a large amount of emails again. I managed to get through half of them before I allowed myself to get up to grab a cup of coffee. The desire for coffee keeps me FOCUSED on getting things done faster. HA! Finally at almost 9:30 I found the courage to leave my office for 5 minutes and made this delicious plate of yummy stuff. Two open faced English muffin sandwiches with egg whites, fat free swiss cheese and hot mango habanero salsa. Of course I had it with a nice cup of coffee.

For lunch I enjoyed a nice salad made with romaine, shredded carrots, cherry tomatoes, broccoli, chick peas and Greek feta dressing. Of course I kept working between bites. I swear it took me 30 minutes to eat it all. Eating slow is good though... Right?

I had no time to leave for a break today and worked straight through the day. (I need a vacation...)

For my very quick afternoon snack I enjoyed a Detour Yoga Bar. It was the peach/mango version. Not bad, not bad. The nutritional stats looked good too.

Once again I was unable to leave at 5:00. Ann waited on me patiently and we finally managed to leave at about 5:30. I loathe getting to the gym late. It was back and biceps day. I won't even lie, I was not motivated. We pushed ourselves for an hour though and got a good workout in. I think I'm just mentally drained.

I came home to an empty house and no idea what to have for dinner. Nick was visiting his mom and was having dinner there. So after much deliberation, I decided to make green beans, a small baked potato (microwaved) and a chicken sausage. I was trying the Al Fresca chicken sausage for the first time. It was the garlic one. Yummy. I will definitely try another variety next time. They had several to choose from.

Nick walked in just as I sat down to eat. He slowly, sweetly, subtly and delicately convinced me to let him turn the heat on. He hates being cold even more then I do and I HATE IT! It was 63 in the house. Way too cold for sitting and relaxing in the living room. I'm not keeping it on by any means. It's getting turned off as soon as we go to bed. My gas budget is high enough as is!!

For a nice little snack later I had a cup of tea and a Jell-O mousse pudding cup. I love these things.

Ok, there it is. Two days for the price of one. All wrapped up in a pretty package just for your reading enjoyment. Goodnight my lovelies. ;)

Anniversary...

Hi everyone. Don't you just love Sundays? Ann I spend every Sunday relaxing at home in the mornings and then visiting the folks in the afternoon. It's always a nice way to end the week. Today was an extra special Sunday because we were celebrating their 36th Anniversary. Those two little cute and crazy critters. Always bickering and giving each other sass and attitude. We all know it's done out of love. Deep rooted and highly INSANE love.

I kept breakfast simple and low calorie today. I knew I'd be having a bigger lunch then usual at their place and I didn't want to overdue it. I had a nice cup of coffee, a banana and an English muffin with spray butter, cinnamon and a dash of Splenda. I used to eat toast English muffins like this all the time but it's been a while. I forgot how much I enjoyed it. YUM!

After breakfast I rushed around getting things ready. I had to meet Ann and to finish up some last minute things before we were due for ANNIVERSARY SUNDAY! I was out the door by 10:50. I got to Ann's apartment and quickly had to snap a picture of sexy kitty. HA!

Then we were off to pick up some fresh flowers for Mama. We sped the whole way there and damn near SPRINTED through the store. We were trying to outrun an obvious storm that was brewing in the distance. Somehow we were back at her place by 11:30. We arranged the flowers in the pretty little pitcher vase we purchased, gathered all the food and the nice bottle of Captain Morgan for my Papa and rushed over there. Once we arrived their obvious joy to see me was painfully evident. I know I'm the favorite. They keep denying it but deep, deep down in my soul, I sense it. No words are needed. HA! Just kidding Ann.

We turned on the grill, prepped the kabobs and got the grillin party rolling. Of course I was in charge as usual. Look at me go... They turned out so good!

By the way, here are the flowers we got for mama. I love lilies and this color combo.

Here are the flowers my Papa got for Mama. Not bad, not bad! :)

Here was my portion. About 75% vegetables and 25% chicken. 100% delicious! YEAH!

For dessert we skewered up some freshly cut pineapple chunks and tossed them on the grill for a few minutes. Wile I was grilling them Ann scooped some low calorie, fat free vanilla ice cream out for the three of them. I didn't want any "extras" with the pineapple so I passed on the ice cream as well. (YOU GO ILDIE... WAY TO HAVE SELF CONTROL... YEAH!) I just planned to have mine with a bit of fat free whip. And you know what? It was delicious!

After dessert we gave them another cheesy present along with a card. And by cheesy present I mean a new game to drive each other insane with. Yahtzee!! HAHAHA! Mama couldn't WAIT to get her hands on it. She tried to chew through the box. Slow down crazy lady. You'll get to plan soon enough.

We also cracked open a bottle of wine. AW SNAP! WINE TIME! I love wine so much! It was delicious! :)

It was at about this time that Ann snapped a picture of herself. I guess I forgot to get in any of the pictures I took. HA!

After reading the directions THOROUGHLY, we played a couple rounds. I didn't win a single time...UGH!

Before we knew it, it was 5:00 pm. Where DID this day go???? So we hugged, kissed and said our goodbyes and took our happy little buts home. What fun!

When I got home I found Nick on his computer doing what he does best with his friend. Killing critters and creatures with conniving and deceptive team effort. And of course as usual when I'm not home, he forgot to eat. Lucky for him I had leftovers from lunch. He ate it all in a matter of minutes. Poor guy must have been starving. I'm not surprised though. His version of "cooking" is making a bowl of cereal or Ramen soup in the microwave. :)

My dinner was simple since I was HAPPY not to have to cook. I microwaved a black bean burger with Swiss cheese and had it on an English muffin. I also had a small side salad and some left over brussel sprouts and mushrooms from last night. Simple and good. These Morning Star Farms black bean burgers are SUPER GOOD! Try one!

And that it's my friends. My day in a nutshell. Now it's sleepy time so goodnight. :)
