Crumping for Computers

I was browsing blogland this morning and came across a post by the lovely Karin from Give me Bananas. She's currently dealing with the drama of an out of commission laptop and it got me thinking. Am I too obsessed with all things Internet? I go WILD when my computer is down or if I lose connection. WILD! Me without a working computer is comparable to crumping in the nude. It's just a BAD idea. HAHAHA! I feel incomplete and immediately panic. I unplug everything, reconnect everything, turn everything on and off 100x all while on hold with the cable company. I think I may have a problem! ;)

I just felt compelled to share this with you before we dove into today's delicious breakfast. I hope you don't mind!

BREAKFAST (meal #1) at 9:00am.
  • 1/2 cup old fashioned oats
  • 1/4 wheat bran
  • 1 tbs flax
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1 tbs Trader Joe's pumpkin butter
  • 1 tbs sugar free cherry preserves (Smucker's)
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tbs unsweetened dark cocoa (Hershey's)
  • dash pumpkin pie spice
  • dash salt
  • Splenda to taste

I devoured this messy, mud looking deliciousness. I love dark cocoa in oats. SO GOOD! Cures me chocolate cravings right up.

LUNCH (meal #2) at 12:15pm.

I cooked up some eggs before leaving the house this morning. I was craving them like MAD and love having them for lunch. Please give a warm round of applause for the lovely breakfast wrap. Four fluffy egg whites and sweet butter lettuce delicately wrapped into a whole grain and flax Flat out. Lovingly drizzled with Sriracha and topped off with a wedge of light Laughing Cow Cheese. Consumed at my desk whilst working of course.

After lunch it was time to get out of the office for a bit. My ass was going numb. I had to get out of my EVIL and uncomfortable chair! Somehow we ended up succumbing to the vortex like pull of World Market again today. We aimlessly roamed the isles. Cooing over ever little thing. I "accidentally" left with two earrings (50% off baby).

4 new spices... (cardamom, pink salt, key lime, rosemary leaf)

2 bottles of wine... ( a nice Sauv Blanc and a Riesling)

and some seriously delicious tea...

This Coconut Chai Black Tea is to DIE for. Sweet, aromatic and sinfully delicious! I TELL NO LIES! GO GET SOME! I bet it would be amazing with milk or cream! It's for sure way too special to be my "at work" tea so I brought it home! Things this tasty must be savored at home, in some peace and quiet.

SNACK (meal #3) at 4:15pm.

The usual 4oz container or plain, 0% Oikos with cinnamon, a pear and a sprinkle of granola. I could live off of this stuff for days! MONTHS!

WORKOUT!

BLEK! It was cardio day at the gym again today. We all know how much I ADORE that! At least my leg was feeling better so I was able to push the resistance levels.

Elliptical Cross Trainer
(6 rounds of the following 10 min. session for a total of 60 min.)
Min. 1 - Level 5
Min. 2 - Level 6
Min. 3 - Level 7
Min. 4 - Level 8
Min. 5 - Level 9
Min. 6 - Level 10
Min. 7 - Level 11
Min. 8 - Level 12
Min. 9 - Level 13
Min. 10 - Level 14
(5.02 miles, 707 calories burned)

After my elliptical trance I decided to do about 15 minutes worth of ab workouts and then called it a day!

This had me looking like a sweaty beast. A shivering, frozen yet sweaty beast. The visual is gorgeous no? I flew home and because I'm insane, I made myself a COLD protein smoothie. I guess I wasn't cold enough yet!

SNACK (meal #4) at 7:15pm.
  • 1 cup unsweetened vanilla Almond Breeze
  • 1 scoop chocolate whey protein powder
  • 1 cup frozen banana chunks
  • 1/4 cup frozen mangoes
  • 1/4 cup frozen strawberries

After my brain freeze I took a long hot bath to warm up. I instantly felt better.

DINNER (meal #5) at 9:30pm.

I decided to dabble with tofu tonight. I made a marinade with a mix of sugar free peach preserves, spray butter, spicy Thai chili paste, pink salt and teriyaki sauce. I drizzled this over the tofu, sprinkled sweetened coconut flakes on top and tossed it into a 400 degree oven for 20 minutes. After 20 minutes I popped them into the broiler for an additional 5 minutes. They turned out perfect. Sweet, hot and toasty. SO GOOD. I enjoyed them with the leftover veggies and mock cauliflower mashed potatoes from last night. All sprinkled with Kaia Foods garlic & sea salt sunflower seeds. LOVE!

Nick and I are about to watch Lost. We always record it and watch it later. This lets us fast forward through the commercials. We're clever like that. ;)

I think I'll make a cup of Coconut Chai Black Tea with a bit of cream as well. It's just so good. I need another fix.

Have a fantastic night my lovelies!
XOXOXO
Ildie

It's crazy that we're so addicted to the internet, right?? I honestly don't know what I would do without my work computer. I'm already dreading the weekend and hope it'll be fixed by then..
I had chocolate oats for breakfast today too. Glorious!!!
You're a tough woman! I couldn't stay on the elliptical for longer than 30 minutes. ;)
