Sophisticated..

Hello, HELLO, HELLO!

Happy Friday lovelies. Hope your day is going well. Mine has been a blend of four different emotions all rolled into one. Stress, Fear, Relief and FUN! Let's start at the beginning.

I woke up FREAKING out about the impending 12:30 hair appointment. I distracted myself by stepping on the scale to see if I lost any weight. NOPE. I actually gained 0.1. So basically I'm the exact same weight that I was last Friday. I wasn't in the least bit upset about it though. Today was going to be a GOOD day and the early start of a GREAT weekend!

BREAKFAST (meal #1) at 9:00am.
  • 1/2 cup old fashioned oats
  • 1/4 cup wheat bran
  • 1 tbs flax
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1 tbs sugar free cherry preserves
  • 1 tbs Better N' Peanut Butter
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • dash pumpkin pie spice
  • pinch salt
  • Splenda to taste

This was my first time trying Better N' Peanut Butter. I LOVED IT! It's only 50 calories and 1 gram of fat per tablespoon. You can't beat that!

After breakfast is when the stressful portion of my day started. I was only working a half a day due to my hair appointment but I still had a full days work and then some to get done. OH A CHALLENGE. GOODY!

LUNCH (meal #2) at 12:00pm.

I barely had time to make and eat this DELICIOUS sandwich. BEHOLD! I have found Thomas's Bagel Thins and they are amazing. With Ann's help I tossed together a quick veggie sandwich on an everything bagel thin with light Laughing Cow cheese, romaine and red bell pepper. I had NO TIME for anything else. I was lucky to get this in. AHHHHHH!

And then we were off. OMG.... The drive to the salon was both exciting and terrifying!! An hour later I realized that I had nothing to fear. Debbie, the lady who cut our hair is amazing. She listened to what we wanted and I LOVE MY NEW CUT AND COLOR! Ann said I looked very sophisticated and polished. I like that sound of that!

Now for some photo fun. Here is Ann's transition.

Before..... (Ann already lost about 2 inches at this point, I was slow to grab the camera. :-O)

During..... (Ann got highlights and a cut with layers)

After..... (Looking fly as ever...)

Here is my transition. I lost 12" inches. Enough to donate to Locks Of Love and then some. They gave me my hair in a plastic bag. I plan to mail it away first thing Monday. :)

Before..... (I'm hiding the terror and fear, trust me...)

During..... (here is my OMG I'm going to poop my pants moment...)

While the color was setting I snacked on one of my favorite Luna bars. Chocolate Peppermint Stick.

After..... I LOVE IT SO MUCH!

We had a blast. Afterwards Ann and I ran to Mama and Papa Babushkas house to show off our SASSY new looks. Get this! Mama LOVED IT! That woman is crazy. Crazy cute! She was so against me getting this cut. HA-HAAA! I win!!!

After our visit we ran to the grocery store and then Ann came over for dinner. We were making quesadillas. I stuffed one whole grain FlatOut for each of us with the following ingredients.
  • Chicken
  • Green onion
  • Green pepper
  • Fat free refried beans
  • Fat free cheddar cheese

I also made a quick black bean and corn salsa which contained the following.
  • 1 can Mexicorn flavored corn (drained)
  • 1 can black beans (drained)
  • cumin
  • salt
  • pepper
  • red pepper
  • cayenne
  • lime juice
  • dried cilantro

THIS WAS AMAZING! And so simple to make. I will be making this again for sure!!

I tossed some sour cream and avocado on the side as well for good measure. Dinner was delicious!

We also snuck in a glass of wine. JUST ONE! We need our energy for tomorrow's shenanigans.

Ann and I just challenged Nick to a Scrabble Battle. I have to run. Be back tomorrow.

HAVE A GREAT NIGHT!

-Ildie
XOXOXO

Cuteass haircut! I bet it will take a while to get used to and time to not use too much shampoo. :)That dinner simply looks perfect! Especially that bean and corn salad!
