Sore Sunday

Happy Sunday. Hope you're all having a wonderful weekend. I'm doing much better today. However, I'm SUPER sore from my Saturday morning workout. I think it's because I worked out with heavier weights and kept them high for each set. Whatever the reason, I could barely get out of bed this morning. THE STAIRS ARE MY ENEMY! As well as standing up or sitting down. HA! I can't even explain it. Basically every single inch of my thighs are sore along with my ass. I look like I've been riding a horse for a month every time I have to get up or walk around. Good times. I do still plan to go to the gym tomorrow to do upper body but cardio may be completely out! Only time will tell.

Breakfast today was an English muffin, open face breakfast sandwich with 3 egg whites, pan seared turkey and fat free American cheese. Delicious!

Enjoyed with a nice and frothy espresso.

After breakfast I ran to pick up the last few items I needed from the grocery store. I didn't need a whole lot so I was able to get that out of the way with quickly. After I was done with that I made the weekly pilgrimage to Mama and Papa's house. To keep lunch simple I took some of the cabbage soup I made yesterday with me. Enough to share of course. Papa and Ann both loved it. Mama had a taste but didn't want any. She's not big on spicy food.

I enjoyed it with a toasted Ezekiel 4:9 bun sprayed with spray butter.

I hung out with the family for a while, sipped on coffee and played STUPID boardgames (I kept losing) for a few hours. Just another typical Sunday afternoon spent laughing, conniving and backstabbing those you love. HA!

When I got home the living room was covered with papers, file folders and receipts. Nick was working on his taxes (self employed) and I guess it was a bit more involved that he was expecting. Poor guy. Oddly enough I was hungry again. Cabbage soup always fills me up quick but the fullness doesn't last very long. I decided to have a little snack. I tried some of the spicy Trader Joe's hummus I picked up yesterday. OMG... SO DELICIOUS!

I had it with some Trader Joe's blue corn tortilla chips, green peppers and baby carrots.

After my snack it was bath time. I was hoping to soak some of my aches and pains away. The hot bath helped a bit but by no means did it get rid of my suffering. BAH! Hopefully I'll be less sore by the time I wake up tomorrow.

Dinner was another simple concoction. I made a nice salad with spinach, sweet butter lettuce, cherry tomatoes, chicken breast, crumbled feta, toasted English muffin pieces (for hot croutons), spray butter and fresh cracked black pepper. Delicious!

I think I'll curl my tired and sore body up on the couch and relax for a bit now. Time to veg out for a while before getting back to work reality tomorrow. I leave you with a quote...

We think fast food is equivalent to pornography, nutritionally speaking. ~Steve Elbert
