Burn Baby Burn...

Happy Saturday Lovelies. Today has been brilliant. Sunny, warm, relaxing and delicious.

It all started bright and early with a warm cup of Mocha Java flavored French Press coffee.

Enjoyed while perusing and drooling over the brilliant food porn photography this is my beloved blogland. I have GOT TO get a DLSR camera. Perhaps I'll plant a magic money tree in my yard. Mmmm. YES!

BREAKFAST (meal #1) at 9:30am.
  • 1/2 cup old fashioned oats
  • 1/4 wheat bran
  • 1/2 unsweetened vanilla Almond Breeze
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • dash pumpkin pie spice
  • (Cooked slowly on the stove on low heat and topped with ground flax + unsweetened raspberry preserves + Better N' Peanut Butter.)

I ate this WAY too fast, chugged a bottle of water, changed for the gym and ran out the door to meet Annie-Boo for a serious sweat session.

Average HR = 132
Total Calories Burned = 855 (WHOAH, hight right? I know but I have proof)

Some of you have asked how it's possible for me to burn SO many calories during my workouts. Well, the thing is, I've got a lot moving, shaking, jiggling, twirling and whirling around and burning that much is not a problem (sadly). I'm sure once I lose more weight the amount of calories I'm burning will plummet. Until then, BURN BABY BURN! ;)

I have also DISCOVERED something AMAZING! Something never seen before, illuminated by the subtle, sunny glow of the locker room!

THERE'S MUSCLE LURKING IN THERE! WOW!! Took long enough!!!!!

This workout was a loooooooong one and it wore me out.

SNACK (meal #2) at 12:30pm.

I rushed home and refueled with a quick protein shake. Unsweetened vanilla Almond Breeze + chocolate peanut butter whey protein + cinnamon + ice.

After my quickie shake, I cleaned myself up real quick and ran to the grocery store to get my shopping done. I picked up all of the essentials to get us through next week. I spent a small fortune but we're well stocked now. I love it when the fridge and pantry are full of healthy eats. :)

LUNCH (meal #3) at 4:00pm. (WAY later than it should have been...)

I had the absolute best little salad for a light (and late) lunch.
  • Spring Mix
  • Red bell pepper
  • Yellow bell pepper
  • Artichoke hearts (canned)
  • Sprouted sunflower seeds
  • Hummus
  • Fresh cracked black pepper
  • Sea salt

After lunch Nick and I decided to watch A Tale Of Two Sisters. I LOVE scary Asian movies. LOVE LOVE LOVE them! I've seen this one before but it had been a while and Nick had never seen it. Creepy, confusing, super strange, scary and disturbing. All the classic components of an Asian Horror flick. :-O

SNACK (meal #4) at 6:00pm.

I made a super tasty yogurt snack towards the end of the movie. Plain Greek Dannon + Pineapple + Strawberries + Mango + Udi's cranberry granola + Coconut.

OMG. Good! A single tear trickled down my cheek as I spooned this decadence into my mouth. This flavor combination was ridiculous!

DINNER (meal #5) at 10:30. (EEEK, WAY too late to be eating. I blame myself completely! I got lost in TV land...)

I had roasted veggies on the brain all day. There was NO fighting it! I remedied the situation with an entire cookie sheet worth of Broccoloi + Cauliflower + Zucchini, seasoned with garlic salt + fresh cracked black pepper + cayenne + spray butter. I also baked a cheddar turkey sausage for myself and a piece of hot smoked sausage for Nick.

I sprinkled something new to me on the veggies when they were done. Cheese flavored seasoning mix. CHEESONING!

I can't find nutritional yeast ANYWHERE and I wanted in on some of that sweet "fake" cheese flava! Not bad, not bad. I'm still very curious about the yeast though!!!! MUST...FIND...IT!!!

Enjoyed with low card ketchup, of course. :)

I leave you with something disturbingly adorable!

(I couldn't help myself. I JUST WANT TO HUG IT!!!)

ENJOY YOUR SATURDAY!
Stay Sassy!
XOXO

Ildie

Your veggies look so tasty!!

I just flexed in front of the mirror last night (felt so cheesy) but I saw some muscle finally too!! Isn't it a fun feeling to see that all of the hardwork is paying off with some pretty rad results?! :)

I love this post!
1. Awesome workout!! I am getting into strength training and loving every minute of it!
2. I love scary Asian movies too! Have you seen the Japanese Suicide Club?
3. Too bad about the nutritional yeast :( I'm surprised that our health food store here in lame west Texas had it (in the bulk area). maybe you can order it online?

How sad is it that I haven't updated my weight on my HR monitor because of this exact fear? It's only 6 lbs off, but I still am a-scared of the plummet!
