Rhyme and Reason!

HAPPY FRIDAY! Oh beloved Friday, you took so long to get here. I've been dreaming of you. Waiting for you. Yearning for you. But now you're here and I feel complete. :)

So rumor has it that today is National Rhyme Day according to the lovely Janetha. So I thought I would partake in the fun. Here is a poem I wrote about my beloved Chocolate Cake a while back. I no longer indulge myself in such decadence but I wanted to rhyme a bit for you lovely folks.

YUMMY

Fluffy frosting on fingertips
So sweet you hurt my lips
Your layers are rich and thick
I love to mold your slick
Shapes and crooked spaces
Of forbidden creamy places
Soft caramel smothered hills
Their texture gives me chills
So gooey I'm making a mess
I obsess and I must confess
With each taste I want another
You're a flavor like no other
Lustful, enslaving and ripe
An aroma of no other type
Smooth and velvety soft center
My weak senses start to enter
Satisfaction, pure joy of you
Chocolate cake, I.... I love you!

Well, now I just want cake! HA! But instead, I will have a lovely LUNA Bar for breakfast along with a nanner and a nice cup of coffee. It's no chocolate cake but it's tasty. It's the raspberry chocolate version which I've never had before. Pretty good. But I still like the Chocolate Peppermint one the best! I'm not sure if having a bar for breakfast is wise or what but I was all out of Oats this morning. And yes, I did weep a little. A single tear rolled down my face in sadness. I LOVE YOU OATS!

For lunch I enjoyed yet another amazing wrap. I stuffed a La Tortilla wrap with raw slaw mix, green peppers, a little spray butter and a black bean burger torn into pieces. Yep, it was delicious! I should attempt to make my own black bean burger from scratch sometime soon instead of buying the frozen stuff. EXPERIMENTATION may be in my near future!

After lunch we decided to venture out on a GRAND EXPEDITION of grocery store exploration! We ran to Aldi for dried fruit (they have the best prices hands down) and some fresh veggies! Then it was off to Giant Eagle for my beloved Oikos Greek Yogurt and a few other things that only they carry. I'm not sure if this makes me crazy or not but I also plan to go to Acme to do my ACTUAL grocery shopping after work. Hey, eating healthy is expensive. You do what you have to go where you have to. Even if it means multiple places in one day.

After work, yes, I went to Acme and finished up my grocery shopping. Are you at all SHOCKED about this? I doubt it! Then it was off to my warm and cozy little paradise of a house. I love my house. I do. I even love it's old, creaky, leaky and broken bits. Why? BECAUSE SHE'S MINE that's why! After I put the groceries away I couldn't find Oliver. But then look at what I discovered lurking in my bag. HAHA! :)

As you know, it was Taco night. Same old story, same old love song. WE LOVE TACOS YEAH! This time I skipped the avocado and opted for some fat free shredded cheddar cheese instead. I didn't have a ripe avocado at home and it broke my heart. The cheese was good though. I enjoyed the dish as usual.

EXPERIMENTATION shall now commence!!

Hummus
  • 1 can chick peas
  • 1 cup Oikos, plain, fat free yogurt
  • tsp Cinnamon
  • Splenda
  • dash vanilla extract
  • dash maple extract
Uhm it tasted "weird". Here it is. I will let it chill overnight and try it again tomorrow before I decided if it's a keeper or not. BUMMER!

Oatmeal and Banana Bake
  • 2 cups oats
  • 2 egg whites, beaten
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 large banana, mashed
  • 1.5 cup vanilla Almond Breeze
  • 3 packets splenda
  • 1 tbs cinnamon
  • dash Vanilla Extract
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD!!!!! OMG!

And now it's time for some relaxation and unwinding. GOODNIGHT!
